Before You Buy

Ask these simple questions before you buy any used vehicle.

1) Find out the details about the warranty being offered:

• Find out who is behind the warranty coverage.
• Ford Certified Pre-Owned warranty coverage is manufacturer-backed, unlike others that may be backed by an independent or even offshore company.
• Determine the length of the warranty coverage.
• The Ford Certified Pre-Owned powertrain limited warranty coverage is for 6 years/100,000 miles.
• Find out where the warranty will be honored.
• The Ford Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty coverage is honored at any Ford, Lincoln or Mercury Dealership in the United States and Canada.
• Is the warranty transferable to all future owners? Will there be a charge associated with such a transfer?
• Our warranty is fully transferable to future owners at no cost, a resale benefit that can be transferred from owner to owner.

2). Find out what out-of-pocket expenses, such as a $100 deductible, will be covered if warranty work is needed on the vehicle.

• All Ford CPO vehicles feature the following benefits in addition to covering certain aspects of the actual vehicle:
• Travel expense reimbursement of up to $500 for up to three days of lodging and meals
• Destination expense assistance of up to $75 to cover the emergency cost of a taxi, shuttle or rental car to get you to your destination
• Rental car reimbursement of up to $30 per day for up to five days if the vehicle requires overnight mechanical repairs
• 24-hour Roadside Assistance for the length of the powertrain limited warranty coverage

3) Ask about the inspection.

• Who inspected the vehicle? Was it a factory-trained technician?
• Ask to see the inspection reports on the specific vehicle you're interested in and determine what standards are used to certify a vehicle. What parts of the vehicle were inspected?
• Were all of the items brought up to manufacturer specifications?

4). Ensure you see/receive the Vehicle History Report.

• A Vehicle History Report is provided as part of the vehicle delivery process for every Ford Certified Pre-Owned vehicle.
